Somatic movement is one which is performed consciously with the intention of focusing on the internal experience of the movement rather than the external appearance or result of the movement. Many people find somatic movement education methods to be highly effective in relieving chronic pain, improving bodily function, and recovering from common musculoskeletal conditions.
I personally have found this to be a very powerful movement modality. It is so subtle but by doing it on a regular basis I’ve noticed common little aches and pains that have just disappeared over time. Somatic training is available one on one or in group classes that are taught in 6 week sessions. in the winter.
